Recently Jimi has been learning the sacred healing Music and Dances of the Shona people of Southern Africa and some of this course will be dedicated to learning these uplifting and powerful songs, rhythms and dances These classes are designed for beginners & more advanced drummers who want to get together and learn about the joys of playing music together learn some funky West African rhythms and most of all have fun There will also be a chance to learn some funky African dances as well. The format:
The course will focus on the development of
Spiritual Healing by channelling energies
through the hands. All ten sessions are
divided into two parts, starting off with a
meditation and visualisation, and finishing
with hands-on healing practice.

following topics: chakras and the etheric
body; healing (self, magnetic and
channelled); Higher Self meditation;
projection of colours; psychic protection. The
aim of the course will be to bring awareness
to the different aspects of working with

The Dances provide a joyful, multi-cultural way to touch the spiritual essence within

meditation in sound and movement. There are no performers or audience, new arrivals
and old hands form the circle together.
The Dances are easy to learn, and everything you need to know for each Dance is
taught first. Even though you might feel unable to sing 'in tune', or feel you have 'two
left feet', these Dances are welcoming to all.
Tara is a guardian of and lives at Te Moata Retreat Centre in the Coromandel Peninsula
and she travels to Auckland twice a month to teach the St Barnabas family this
