During International Days and major international conferences there is a special opportunity to serve in the creation of a more unified and compassionate world. All who work in meditation and prayer can hold these events in the light, invoking the lighted, loving energies of divinity with the aim of inspiring and nourishing all that is being done in the world to create a culture of peace (right human relations).

A lot of support is needed to make this happen so if you would like to support this project, please check out the website, join the membership and sign the petition and pass on the information to your friends.

July 23rd - 25th. Festival for the Future
& The Day Out of Time Celebration.
To anchor this year's global event, the Beloved Community, in conjunction with the Foundation for the Law of Time to create this unique celebration. This is a CALL TO ACTION for luminaries around the world. On July 25th, hundreds of groups will celebrate the DAY OUT OF TIME, linking with the main event taking place in Ashland. Jose Arguelles states "July 25th, 2004, the DAY OUT OF TIME on the 13 Moon/28 day calendar was prophesied as the beginning of the shift toward 2012." This conference marks the approach to that great day as well as the beginning of a universal shift to this natural calendar, which brings us in attunement with the natural rhythm of the Earth and returns us to a consciousness of the cyclical nature of time.
There will be a gathering called VISIONS FOR A NEW HUMANITY from July 23 - 25th with James Twyman, Jose Arguelles, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Neale Donald Walsch and many other luminaries for this celebration to be held in Ashland, Oregon.
This is a very special time - you might like to celebrate with friends, or just take some quiet time out for yourself.

OCTOBER
1st October. World Vegetarian Day.
http://www.WorldVegetarianDay.org
1st October. International Day of Older Persons.
2008 theme: Rights of Older Persons
People are living longer. This is prompting governments and people's organisations all over the world to reflect deeply on how we can plan for future societies in which: every individual, each with rights and responsibilities, has an active role to play.
At every level of society - local communities, regional groups, peoples associations, governments and international coalitions - there is a potent focus on ways in which the wisdom, maturity, skills and heart qualities of older people can be fully incorporated into healthy community.
We can think of this in symbolic terms, where age can be seen in terms of spiritual age and maturity. Imagine a celebration and empowerment of those human beings who are the spiritually older and wiser ones amongst every society.
We are used to reflecting on an emerging new balance in the relations between male and female - now we are challenged to consider relations between the generations - and particularly the elderly, the 'middle generation' of parents, and the young. The UN Global Strategy is centred on an International Plan of Action on Ageing which aims to ensure that persons everywhere are able to age with security and dignity and to continue to participate in their societies as citizens with full rights.
www.un.org/esa/socdev/ageing/un_meetings.html
2nd October. International Day of Non-Violence .
International Day of Non-Violence
First observed on October 2, 2007, the International Day of Non-Violence marks the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
National governments agreed unanimously in the UN General Assembly to use the Day as an occasion to "disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness". The resolution reaffirms "the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence" and the desire "to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence".

16th October. World Food Day.
A Day for reflection and outer action in the struggle to ensure that everyone has enough to eat every day. Over 800 million people still go hungry every day. This years theme: Investing in agriculture for food security.
www.fao.org/wfd
16th October. World Food Day.
2008 theme: World Food Security - The Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy
In 2000 at the Millennium Summit, the leaders of the world's governments made a solemn commitment to fight hunger, poverty and disease. They stated in the Millennium Development Goals, that they would reduce by half the number of the world's chronically hungry and under-nourished people. At the World Food Summit in Rome in 2002, they re-dedicated themselves to this goal. On this special Day let us visualise this goal being achieved as a result of an international alliance of all people of goodwill and conscience. Intercultural dialogue is one of the keys to building diversity into farming practices around the world and reducing the reliance on pesticides and chemicals - farmers in different cultures have a wealth of inherited wisdom to draw upon.

NOVEMBER
2nd November. World Day for Circles of Compassion.
www.millionthcircle.org/
Launched by the World Women's Summit Foundation, this is an annual Day to call for all citizens to seed and nurture Circles of Compassion throughout the world. A gift from indigenous peoples' traditions to the 21st century, a Circle is a gathering of people to communicate more honestly and openly. In a Circle, compassion, understanding and wisdom are nurtured.
13th November. Celebrate World Kindness Day.
Find ways to express love and generosity to your family, friends and colleagues.
16th November. International Day of Tolerance.
Tolerance and the celebration of diversity are two of the essential characteristics of the emerging mind and heart. Yet while the sense of wholeness and universal responsibility grows, this is a time when it is the absence of tolerance and the emotional power of intolerance that fuels violent and separative movements in all parts of the world.
This is an important day to give energy, love and support to the countless initiatives around the world designed to nourish and nurture the growing spirit of tolerance and universal responsibility. It is observed as a day to promote Tolerance Education and to reflect on how tolerance can best be fostered in our communities, particularly in divided communities.
http://www.un.org/depts/dhl/tolerance/
http://www.tolerance.org
20th November. Universal Children's Day.
http://www.un.org/depts/dhl/children_day/index.html
One of the outstanding keynotes of our present time is the focus that is being put on children: the rights of children; the needs of children; the importance of considering children in every area of life. At a global level this is reflected in The Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international human rights treaty that is transforming the lives of children and their families around the world. Under the Convention all but two of the world's countries have agreed to meet universal standards, guaranteeing children the rights to survival, health, education, a caring family environment, play and culture.
DECEMBER
10th December. Human Rights Day.
http://www.un.org/events/humanrights/2006/
2006 theme: Fighting Poverty – A Matter of Obligation Not Charity
This Day marks the anniversary of the General Assembly’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human rights in 1948. This remains one of the most significant documents to have been drafted by the international community. The Universal Declaration forms a fundamental focal point in the evolution of a new civilisation and it is right and appropriate that the anniversary of its signing should be celebrated. Human Rights Day also provides an opportunity to assess how far there is to go in the creation of a global civilisation centred on human rights, freedoms and a sense of human unity.
20th December. International Human Solidarity Day.
http://www.un.org/esa/socdev/social/solidarity.htm
Convinced that the promotion of the culture of solidarity and the spirit of sharing was important for combating poverty, the General Assembly, in 2005, proclaimed 20 December as International Human Solidarity Day.
31st December. World Spirituality Day.
31st December. World Healing Day & Peace Meditation.
Spiritual Caucus at the UN

The group "is committed to supporting and strengthening the spiritual principles and purposes of the United Nations and raising awareness of spirituality at work within the United Nations System".
